MatchMaster App — Troubleshooting & Tips

Use this guide to resolve the most common issues with the RCBS MatchMaster app — from login and Bluetooth connectivity to switching between Auto and Manual modes.

01

General Tips

  • Make sure you have a good internet connection before launching the app.
  • Close all other apps running in the background before use.
  • Use a valid email address when logging in. Confirm your spelling and check for an accidental space after the address — some phones add this automatically.
  • If you cannot log in or the app won't stay loaded, uninstall the app, close all background apps, then reinstall.
  • To enter a powder charge, tap the "Charge Weight" section of the screen — a pop-up number pad will appear.

02

iPhone-Specific Tips

iOS
  • App locks up: Close it by double-clicking the home button, then swipe up on the RCBS app window to force-quit it.
  • Can't log in or entered wrong email: Go to Account Management, delete the account, and create a new one.
  • Bluetooth connection drops: "Forget" the device in your iPhone's Bluetooth settings and pair again. iOS does not automatically unbind from Bluetooth devices when you disconnect — it keeps the binding in the background. You must manually forget the MatchMaster to cleanly re-establish the connection.

03

Android-Specific Tips

Android
  • Bluetooth connection drops: "Unpair" the device in your Android Bluetooth settings and pair again.
  • GPS Location must be enabled. The app periodically uploads user data to the RCBS server, and GPS Location must be active before you can connect to the MatchMaster.
  • Still can't connect? Clear the app cache in your Android settings (Apps → MatchMaster → Storage → Clear Cache), then relaunch.

Switching from Manual to Auto Mode

This applies to existing MatchMaster App users with custom parameters. When the app is used in Auto mode, the MatchMaster may default back to Manual — follow these steps each session to correct this.

Do This Every Session These steps must be repeated each time you use the MatchMaster app with custom parameters. Do not press Complete in the app until you are fully finished — doing so will reset the MatchMaster back to Manual and require you to start over.
  1. In the app, press Dispense and select your loaded custom configuration.
  2. Select AUTO, set your charge weight, and press SET.
  3. Press GO. The MatchMaster will switch from Auto to Manual — this is expected.
  4. On the MatchMaster, press MODE. The screen should display "Auto." Press GO — the screen should say "On." Press GO again.
  5. Press MODE again — "Sound" should appear on the screen. Press GO and confirm the screen says "On." Press GO again.
  6. Enter your powder charge (e.g., 26 GN) and load your cases as usual.
Important Do not press any buttons in the app until you are completely finished with your session. Pressing Complete in the app will reset the MatchMaster to Manual mode and require you to repeat all steps above.
