Turret Press — Ram Clip Spring Replacement
Replacing the ram clip spring on the Turret Press is a straightforward process — it just takes a little technique to seat the clip fully into the groove. Follow the steps below and you'll have it secured in a few minutes.
-
Insert the Curved End into the Ram Insert the curved portion of the ram clip spring into the hole of the ram, as shown below. This anchors the spring and gives you a pivot point for seating the rest of the clip.

Rest the Spring in the Groove Ensure the remaining portion of the clip spring is resting in the groove. At this stage it will be jutting out slightly from the surface — this is normal.

Pop the Clip into the Groove Use a flat surface or your finger to push in the rest of the clip. Two methods work well here:
Rolling method: Place the ram on a flat surface and roll it forward, using a bit of force to pop the clip into the groove as it rolls.
Finger method: Run your finger from the front of the clip toward the tail end, pressing down firmly to force the clip into place as you go.

Seat the Clip Fully with a Screwdriver The clip should now be in the groove but may still be sitting close to the surface. Use a flat-head screwdriver or another pointed object to push the clip further into the groove until it sits snugly against the ram.

Finished Result
When correctly installed, the clip spring should sit flush and snug against the ram all the way around the groove with no portion jutting out from the surface.
