Need Reloading Gear? Here’s Where to Get It

New to handloading or a seasoned pro, every shooter needs to know where to find the best reloading gear. This article guides you through the best places to buy reloading tools, whether you’re building your first bench or upgrading your setup.

We’ll cover the pros and cons of buying online vs. in-store, what to look for in a trusted retailer, and where to find genuine RCBS products. From presses and dies to case prep tools, this guide will help you shop with confidence and get the gear you need to reload right.

Online vs In-Store

For new handloaders or anyone wanting to physically check out the new tool you’ve been thinking about buying, seeing RCBS gear in-store is the way to go. Visiting your local retailer or gun store is also a good way to chat with a knowledgeable employee who might be able to help answer your questions about reloading. You can also pick up primers, brass, bullets  the or powder you’ll need for your reloading project as well.

To make sure your local store carries RCBS or reloading gear in general, we recommend calling ahead before you drive in. Well known outdoor retailers are a good place to begin your search.

The downside? Some stores may not stock the specific item you’re looking for, may not have a big reloading section in general, or may not have an experienced handloader working the counter. The ability to browse and compared items in person makes up for this.

What to Look for in a Retailer

Decided to check out RCBS tools in person?  Don’t be afraid to ask the folks behind the counter for help finding the gear you are after, their opinion on your set up, or even to demo or showcase a piece of equipment. While some smaller stores may not have a handloading expert on staff, for new reloaders the ability to ask some questions and compare products is a gamechanger.

Buying Reloading Gear Online

Online retailers typically carry a large assortment of RCBS gear and are likely to have what you need. They also typically stock a full complement of reloading components. You may need to pay shipping or hazmat fees to get a heavy press, tool or primers shipped to your doorstep. Like shopping in-store, some websites may not carry every RCBS item. While you won’t be able to talk to an associate as you would in a retail store, calling the help line for online stores will connect you to a helpful resource who can help you select and buy the gear you’ve been eyeballing.

RCBS.com offers a full assortment of our tools and products and is a great place to purchase reloading equipment. What you want is out of stock? Simply leave your email on the product’s page that you are looking for, and we’ll notify you when our factory makes what you need and we have the item back in stock.
